Generic Western AI products, even the best general-purpose models, systematically underperform on Indic-language documents, regional regulatory formats, and government procurement requirements, which leaves a large gap for regulated Indian enterprises. This company builds vertical AI applications, not another foundation model, trained and tuned on Indic-language and India-specific regulatory data for one sector at a time, starting with a workflow like BFSI KYC document processing or health records in regional languages. The buyer is an enterprise or government body that needs AI adoption but cannot staff a large in-house AI team, which describes most of India's mid-size regulated enterprises today.
The wedge is depth in one vertical and one language cluster rather than breadth: build the document and compliance corpus for, say, Hindi and Tamil BFSI KYC workflows, deploy on-prem or in a sovereign cloud to satisfy data-residency requirements, and win the trust of one regulator or large enterprise before expanding language or sector coverage. On-prem and sovereign deployment is itself a feature here, not just a technical detail, because it is what unlocks government and defence procurement that foreign-hosted AI cannot touch.
Once one vertical and language pair is proven, the company can replicate the same playbook across additional Indian languages and additional regulated sectors, compounding the proprietary language and compliance corpus with each expansion.
